As the winter comes, it is time for Christmas tree drawing season! Welcome to the festive wonderland of my blog! 🎄✨ At the blog’s start, I’ve crafted a step-by-step guide on drawing the jolliest Christmas tree for beginners, kids, or anyone with a love for doodling! Dive into a merry exploration of Christmas tree magic using various enchanting mediums like pen, pencil, and watercolor. 🌈 I hope you unwrap the perfect, whimsical tree idea that fills your heart with holiday joy! 🌟🎁

Materials Needed: Pencil, black marker, colored pencils or markers, drawing paper, and ruler (only for perfectionists) – In creating these drawings, I chose an alternative approach, utilizing a Wacom Cintiq, thus eliminating traditional scanning methods. Feel free to use any medium, color, or texture.

Artist Tip: I always start my drawing journey by sketching with a pencil to outline my creation. Once satisfied, enhance it with an ink pen for added definition. I suggest this methodology as well to get better results for your drawings.

How to Draw a Christmas Tree?

Here’s a simple 6-step guide to drawing a Christmas tree:

  • Step 1: Draw 3 triangles Start by sketching an upside-down “V” shape or triangles. Repeat this 3 times, this will be the main outline of your Christmas tree. The edges of the triangles represent the branches. For a realistic look, each triangle should be slightly larger than the one above it.
  • Step 2: Smooth the edges Following the creation of three consecutive triangles, we’ll gently round the edges and enhance the visibility of the branches to lend a more realistic touch to our tree.
  • Step 3: Add Color I prefer the add color first to understand the volume of the tree. Because I don’t like the stroke drawings. If you want to color it after – you first need to depict a star at the top of the tree. After drawing the star, draw the ribbons that decorate the tree in the picture.
  • Step 4: Add texture After coloring your tree, you need to make the branches stand out by choosing a darker color and adding some texture to the edges of the triangles.
  • Step 5: Decorate with Ornaments Get creative and add decorations to your tree. Draw circles or any shapes you like to represent ornaments. – Start by drawing Christmas balls, which are a classic decoration for any Christmas tree. After that, draw the candy cane decorations.
  • Step 6: Add a Trunk: Draw a vertical rectangle or square below the tree to represent the trunk. Complete your drawing by adding some presents under the tree. Feel free to color it in with festive shades!
