If you’ve ever purchased a cabinet that locks, you’ve likely also been annoyed by the fact that you (1) can see the lock from the outside (ruining your otherwise stylish cabinet fronts!) and (2) have to keep a key around to access the contents inside. But what if there were an easier, smarter, and less-obvious alternative? Diamond Cabinets is here to make that a reality, with the release of their new biometric-secured cabinets—meaning you can open them with just the touch of your finger (print, that is.)
Diamond’s new Secured Drawer uses Master Lock Biometric Technology to keep things both safer and sleeker—and it’s a much smarter method of fingerprint scanning, too. According to a press release, this sensor technology sees past contaminants and imperfections and scans quickly and accurately. It can also store up to 100 different fingerprints, so you can give access to other people in your household. It’s basically the smartest way to stow away things you need to keep out of reach of children or keep private for any reason.
The whole process of unlocking these cabinets is super-simple and straightforward: When you go to open the locked drawer, it will put out just slightly to display the fingerprint sensor and battery. Just place your finger on the sensor and pull the drawer to open it fully. And of course, there’s also the back-up option of using a key, but the manual lock is hidden on the underside of the drawer, invisible if you’re looking at the cabinet fronts.
Diamond Cabinets Secured Drawers are available in three sizes: 18-inch, 21-inch, and 24-inch-wide base drawer cabinets (all measuring 24 inches deep).
